To The Couple Who Part Their Ways on Chinatown

first of all, i am sorry for assuming that you two are a couple
because (spoiler alert), i saw you kiss

secondly, i am sorry for staring
but the way you two look at each other was magnetizing
to a pair of my hopeless romantic eyes
in the midst of people rushing and moving non-stop
you two moved me i had to stand still
i zoned out from the conversation my friends were having
we were talking what we wanted for dinner
as i started to crave for a connection the two of you had
one feet apart face-to-face gaze
loose but intimate hug
with a chin resting on a head
so when my friend asked me what do i want for dinner
i almost say “can i have what they have?”
without the dripping tears and the heavy steps

she took more steps further away from the station
he took more time mourning by the card-tap machine
and there i was, looking from a distance
witnessing how you two became distant

so i hope you two have safely arrive at your own houses
though you no longer alight at the same destination
i want to believe what you had was a beautiful journey

previously read out loud as a spoken word poetry.
you can check it through this here.
